Welcome to Neuro-Oncology
Neuro-Oncology is a field specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors. As a department, we are staffed by a neuro-oncologist, neurosurgeons and medical oncologists. The neurosurgeons will help you with any surgeries you may require, while the neuro-oncologist and medical oncologists will provide chemotherapy and other important issues for your care. If you require radiation therapy, we can also make it happen.
Our goals are to provide you with the best care possible. This may include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. We will do our best to give you all the information to make the best possible decisions in your care. We like to think of Neuro-Oncology as a team approach, and you are an important part of it.
We will also do our best to help you cope with the emotional difficulties that are a part of having a brain and/or spinal cord tumor. We can offer a variety of regional resources that can enhance your emotional well-being, and these are coordinated by a variety of medical social workers.
