Mammogram:
Mammography is an X-ray test of the breasts (mammary glands) that is used to diagnose breast cancer. The resulting X-ray picture is called a mammogram. A mammogram is done to help screen for or diagnose breast cancer. Many small tumors can be seen on a mammogram before they can be felt by a woman or her doctor.

Breast ultrasound is performed to further investigate a specific abnormality seen by a mammogram or felt by a physical exam.

Breast MRI:
Patients who requires a MRI of breasts may be referred to either our South San Francisco Kaiser Permanente facility or San Jose Kaiser Permanente facility , where radiologists trained in reading breast MRI will supervise and interpret breast MRI.

Bone Density:
- A bone mineral density (BMD) test measures the density of minerals (such as calcium) in your bones using a special X-ray, computed tomography (CT) scan, or ultrasound.
- This information is used to estimate the strength of your bones.
- A bone density test takes approximately 10 to 20 minutes to complete.
- The result is given in comparison to the average bone density in your age group and in comparison to your previous bone density test.
