Male sexual dysfunction
For men with prostate cancer who receive anti-androgen therapy:
- Sexual dysfunction is very common.
- Erectile dysfunction, loss of sexual desire, and other conditions can occur.
Some patients try medications to help erectile function with some success.
- For men who are on medications for heart failure such as nitrates, medications to help with erectile dysfunction may not be appropriate for them.
Some try other methods including:
- A vacuum constriction device (VCD)
- An external pump that can be used to achieve and maintain an erection.
