Testicular cancer follow-up

Follow-up for:
Stage IA, IB testicular cancer who are on surveillance or received chemotherapy only:
- For year 1-3: every 3-4 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis with each visit and a chest X-ray every other visit
- Year 4-7: every 6 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis with each visit and a chest X-ray every other visit
- Year 8-10: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis with each visit and a chest X-ray every other visit
- After 10 years: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests
Stage IA, IB/ IS testicular cancer who received radiation therapy only
- For year 1: every 3-4 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis once a year if received only para-aortic radiation therapy
- For year 2-3: every 6 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis once a year if received only para-aortic radiation therapy
- For year 2-3: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis once a year if received only para-aortic radiation therapy
- After year 3: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests
Stage IIA/IIB testicular cancer who received radiation therapy only
- For year 1-3: every 3-4 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests and a CT scan of abdomen at month 4 and year 1
- Year 4: every 6 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker
- After year 4: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests
Stage IIA/IIB/IIC, III testicular cancer who received chemotherapy only:
- For year one: every 2 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray are recommended
- CT scan of abdomen and pelvis 4 months after surgery, then as needed.
- For year 2: every 3 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray are recommended
- For year 3: every 4 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray are recommended
- By year 4: every 6 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray are recommended .
- After year 4: every 12 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray is recommended .
Follow-up for nonseminoma
Surveillance for stage IA, IB testicular cancer who did not receive chemotherapy:
- For year one: every 1-2 months, a follow-up visit, blood marker tests, and a chest X-ray are recommended and a CT scan of abdomen/pelvis every 2-3 months is recommended too.
- By year 2: follow-up, tests are done every 2 months and a CT scan can be extended to every 3-4 months.
- By year 3: visit and tests can be done every 3 months and a CT scan can be done every 4 months.
- By year 4: tests and follow-up are in 4-months interval and CT scan is every 6 months.
- By year 5: tests and follow-up every 6 months and CT scan every 12 months.
- And after 6 years: tests, follow-up and CT scan can be performed every 12 months.
